Laughter Yoga, an amazing technology that combines laughter and deep breathing, is more than just a string of HO HO, HA HA HA's!  The benefits are plentiful and practicing it is more fun than, well, not practicing it, HA!  Check this out:

 

1.  Laughter is a stress buster.  

It reduces the levels of the stress hormones epinephrine and cortisol.

 

2.  Laughter is a beneficial supplement to diabetic care.  

Dr. Lee S. Berk, Professor at Loma Linda University, California, demonstrated in a study on diabetic patients that laughter "may lower stress and inflammatory response and increase “good” cholesterol levels which may lower the risk of cardiovascular disease."

 

3.  Laughter is anti-aging.  

It tones facial muscles and expressions. Plus, people look younger and more fun when they laugh! 

 

4.  Laughter is a natural pain killer.  

Laughter increases the levels of endorphins, the body's natural pain killers.  Norman Cousins, an American journalist who was suffering from an incurable disease of the spine, benefited from laughter therapy in a situation when all painkillers were ineffective.

 

5.  Laughter is good for your mental health.

It brings you out of the regret of the past,  the worry of the future, and puts you straight into the right here, right now! Now is the only place where we can experience happiness.
